2013 Nov. Buggy & Sandboard in Ica. Oasis in Huacachina.
First time in a desert with vast sand dunes, so exciting! Ica’s location in the desert provides unique opportunities for tourism. We moved around in sand buggy and tried sand boarding which was really fun!
One thing to remember, never ever open your mouth no matter what to laugh or scream when you plunge down the dunes on a sandboard. Luckily I was smart enough, but my dear friend… hahaha. 🙂
Huacachina is a village built around a small oasis surrounded by sand dunes. It has a population of 100, but attracts tens of thousands of tourists a year. So magical to see an oasis in the midst of the desert.
Back to Lima after the tiring day, to take a domestic flight to Arequipa the following day.
