2014 Dec. Maldives. Baros.

Island-hopped to Baros Island from Coco Bodu Hithi, for second part of our vacation. What a world of difference! I would unreservedly recommend Baros Resort to everyone. Everything in Baros was so wonderful, impeccable service with great attention to details. Every staff here is extremely professional, competent and hospitable, going all the way out to make every guest feels special and well taken care off. The entire island, ocean views, coral reefs, marine life are so beautiful, great for diving and snorkelling.

Breakfast was served at Lime Restaurant, we decided to sit outside to take in the beautiful surrounding views. The breakfast buffet, with many items cooked to order, was very nicely prepared and served. The selection and quality of food was good. Wonderful meal to start the day.

Took a diving crash course to explore the reefs and shipwreck around Baros. The coral reefs at Baros is huge and very impressive. Met the resident turtle and Nemo as well. 🙂

Simple lunch at Cayenne Restaurant. Wasn’t expecting much, but both the tuna mushroom pizza and mango tandoori chicken salad turned out to be delicious. Very satisfied.

More snorkelling, and was treated to the biggest shoal of blue fishes swimming past in this entire trip. Amazing!

Adjourned to the candlelight dinner under the moon at Lighthouse Restaurant, the signature restaurant at Baros. The food was excellent, and the service impeccable. Great finale to our Maldives trip.

After reading about the severely overpriced but mediocre food in Maldives in general, I must say I am delightfully impressed that food quality in Baros is fantastic! The executive chef clearly knows what he is doing, excellent culinary experience at all the Baros restaurants – Lime, Cayenne, and Lighthouse. Being a big foodie that loves dining myself, I would say the food served at Baros is comparable to what you would get in major cosmopolitan cities.

Had a really great time at Baros, and we were thankful to finally experience true Maldivian hospitality, given our unpleasant stay with Coco Bodu Hithi before arrving in Baros. After experiencing Baros, I now know why people keep wanting to come back to Maldives. Special thanks to GM Shuhan, our great host Gulguna, and all the wonderful staff we met at the restaurants, marine dive centre, gift shop, and all over the island.
