2016 May. Marshall. Point Reyes. Mt Tamalpais. Sausalito.
Sonoma Coast Beach has beautiful coastal views along the scenic drive.
Hog Island Oyster Company is located in Marshall, by the Tomales Bay. The Boat Oyster Bar is an outdoor cafe at Hog Island Oyster Farm. Raw and BBQ oysters, local breads, cheeses, and beverages are served at communal tables alongside the bay. Open from 11am to 5pm daily, reservation is required especially Fri-Mon, or the wait could be quite long. Great relaxed ambience, and the oysters are so yum yum yummy! BBQ oysters was a surprise hit, juicy and flavourful and will have you ask for more after you tried. We had to order extra serving as it was fantastic!
There is something magical, romantic and symbolic about lighthouses, everybody loves them! Point Reyes is, by official records, the windiest and foggiest on the Pacific Coast. The station is frequently blanketed by week-long periods of fog and violent gales strike the area. Point Reyes Light Station is one of the District’s outstanding tourist attractions. You can walk 600m from the parking lot to the Visitor Center, and then down 308 steps to get to the lighthouse.
Mud flats along the drive to Mt Tamalpais State Park, stopped to take a few pictures.
Sausalito is a unique and picturesque community, perched on a hillside between the San Francisco Bay and the Marin Headlands. We had lunch and spent a few hours walking around, before driving across the Golden Gate Bridge to San Francisco.
Views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco, from the Marin Headlands.
